Day 1 – The Launch Party

Filming begins!

Today, I began my 90 day, meatless journey. Yesterday, we kicked off the project with a Going Away Party for Meat. My friends, family and I dined like royalty on dry-rubbed beef, honey-garlic marinated chicken, bacon-wrapped jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese, while cold-cuts and cheese made up the bulk of the appetisers.

Today I was almost apprehensive about what to eat, as I hadn’t really planned ahead on what to make for each meal. I ended up having a latte with almond milk, which I do not recommend to anyone, a Cliff bar, which I found to have trace amounts of dairy due to the chocolate chips, chick-pea curry with naan bread for lunch, and finally, a large bowl of black bean soup with rice. Everything was fine up until dinner, then “bland” decided to join us.

This has led me to the realization that I need to seek out proper help on what to make as I move forward; rice and beans will not cut it.
